4月27日に、横須賀にある無人島・猿島にて実施されたI-AUDのスタジオのフィールドワークに同行し、終了後にB4とI-AUDのスタジオメンバーでバーベキューを行いました。I-AUDのスタジオメンバーは、午前中から猿島でフィールドワークを行ない、B4の学生はバーベキューの食材等を調達してから正午ごろに現地で合流しました。豊かな緑と海に囲まれた砂浜でのバーベキューはとても心地よかったです。

On April 27, B4 and I-AUD studio members held a barbecue on Sarushima, an uninhabited island in Yokosuka, Japan. I-AUD studio members did fieldwork on Sarushima in the morning, and B4 students met up with them around noon after getting ingredients for the barbecue. It was very pleasant to barbecue on the beach surrounded by lush greenery and the sea.

 

　　

 

バーベキューがひと段落した後フェリー出港まで時間があったので、B4の学生は島を散策しました。都会では感じることのできない雄大な自然の中に、要塞や砲台の跡地などの戦争の遺産が残されており、歴史を感じ取ることができました。

After the barbecue was over, there was time for the ferry to depart, and the B4 students took a walk around the island. In the midst of the magnificent nature that we cannot feel in the city, we could feel the history of the island, with the remains of fortresses and gun emplacements and other war legacies.

 

　　

 

フェリーで横須賀へと戻った後は、D1、B4のメンバーで「旧横須賀海仁会病院」を見学しに行きました。この建築は、堀口捨己とともに分離派建築会を結成した石本喜久治設計の建築です。残念ながら、解体が決まっています。

After returning to Yokosuka by ferry, D1 and B4 members went to visit Yokosuka Kaijinkai-kai Hospital. This architecture was designed by Kikuji Ishimoto, who formed Bunriha Kentiku-kai together with Sutemi Horiguchi. Unfortunately, it is scheduled for demolition.
